IF campaigners have helped put hunger, and some its main underlying causes, firmly at the centre of political discussions – globally and nationally – this year. The Scottish Government has some big opportunities coming up in the next few weeks to move from discussion to action, and play its part in ending the scandal of global hunger: Take action:

•IF they ensure tough environmental and ethical standards govern how £9 billion of public money is spent every year in the new Procurement Reform Bill.
•IF they use the upcoming conference on Climate Justice in Edinburgh to increase support for people adapting to the impacts of the climate change in the developing world.
•IF they provide crucial investment for global citizenship education in Scotland to ensure people here have the skills they need to understand the complex world around them.
