This special interfaith dialogue event marking World Interfaith Harmony Week will invite participants from the Jewish, Muslims and Christian traditions to go back to basics and explore why they should engage in interfaith dialogue. What do the sacred texts of these traditions tell us about how we should engage with others who believe and practice differently from us? How can we apply these lessons in today’s fractured world?
This event will use the format of Scriptural Reasoning - an internationally renowned method of interfaith dialogue where people come together to discuss a passage from each of their scriptures on a common theme. The goal is not to build consensus, but understanding and ultimately friendship.
While most of our activities are open to people of any religious tradition or belief, this is a dialogue specifically for Muslims, Jews and Christians so that they can explore together texts from their scriptures and their shared heritage.
You do not have to be an expert in your tradition- just enthusiastic and willing to learn more about your own faith and the faith traditions of others.
Light refreshments will be provided.
