ASYLUM and IMMIGRATION We believe that we are called to welcome the stranger in our midst. We recognise the human dignity of asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants. We believe that we should treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves. The Commission recognises that behind statistics and headlines are real stories of broken lives and families. We will work to achieve a warmer welcome for the stranger in our midst and for fair treatment for all who seek asylum.
