The following series of resources provides useful background as well as things to consider in the run up to the Elections on 22 May 2014.
COMECE is the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Community. It is made up of Bishops delegated by the 27 Catholic Bishops' Conferences of the European Union. Their Statement
gives an authoritative starting point for reflection on the forthcoming elections.
The Joint Public Issues Team of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches has issued an excellent briefing,
covering not only the issues, but the structures of the European Parliament; and including reflections and prayer suggestions as well. It also gives links to all the parties for manifesto and other material.
A group of European ecumenical organisations has put together a useful series of briefings
by topic, outlining expectations.
