What should the key guiding principles be for a country's international development policy? Should a country's values help shape that policy? if so, what values can one attribute to ones own nation? These are just some of the questions being asked about Scotland's present and future external relations. Whatever Scotland's constitutional decision may be, be that 'devolution max', independence or a continuation of the status quo, now is the time - when questions are being asked about what direction Scotland should take both internally and externally—for us to consider Scotland's place in the world.
