If enough MPs speak out, there is a real chance that next week's Budget could put in place a 'General Anti-Avoidance Rule' (GAAR). This would prevent wealthy individuals and companies from using contrived financial structures to shield themselves from their tax bills. The poorest pay more of their income in tax than the richest.
