After years of challenging charter flights deporting Tamil people to Sri Lanka, the High Court finally ordered a suspension of removals for all Tamil failed asylum seekers. The success came about due to the hard work of barristers and solicitors, as pressure and evidence grew from  charities and the media.  They successfully argued that that Tamil failed asylum seekers are at threat of torture or ill treatment from the Sri Lankan authorities when they are returned by the UK.
