URGENT CAAT email Action
The evidence of Saudi Arabia's war crimes in Yemen – bombing schools, hospitals and civilian infrastructure – keeps growing. Yet the UK and other European countries are still supplying the weapons Saudi Arabia needs to carry out these atrocities. The UK has licensed an astounding £2.8 billion of weapons to Saudi Arabia in the six months after the bombing started.

Campaign Against the Arms Trade are ramping up the pressure. CAAT has threatened the UK government with legal action if it doesn't stop the arms sales, and more voices are joining the call. Last month Parliament's International Development Committee also called on the government to suspend arms sales and support an independent inquiry into Saudi Arabia's indiscriminate bombing. Since then a UN report has detailed more than 100 possible breaches of international humanitarian law by the Saudi-led coalition.  Yet the UK government still continues to make excuses for Saudi Arabia's crimes.  This Thursday the European Parliament will vote on a Resolution on the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen and an amendment calling for an immediate arms embargo to Saudi Arabia.  This is an important opportunity to increase the pressure on the UK and other European governments to act. Please email your MEP today, asking them to support the resolution.
