Event in Eastwood

Good Money Week is 8th-14th October.

Eastwood Ecumenical Peace & Justice Forum is planning to hold a meeting to mark Good Money Week on 2nd October 2017 in East Renfrewshire.  The purpose of Good Money Week is to draw awareness to the range of opportunities which exist for those wishing to know what choices there are to invest in ethical financial products.

Organised by Eastwood Ecumenical Peace and Justice Forum
The UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIFA) organises an annual event, known as Good Money Week, which this year takes place during October.

The organisation brings together people from all walks of life and levels of income, (financial advisers, charities, faith communities, student groups and financial institutions) to help raise awareness of the benefits of sustainable and ethical investment and finance, so that we can all have a positive impact on the environment and society without sacrificing wealth.

Started in 2005, Good Money Week was previously known as National Ethical Investment Week (NEIW) before the name changed in 2014.  During the past three years in Scotland it has been centred on an event which has been held in Edinburgh. The Scottish organising committee of the UKSIFA is keen to encourage the event to expand into the west of Scotland.  Eastwood Ecumenical Peace and Justice Forum, an informal group drawn from multi-faith churches in East Renfrewshire, is planning to organise the event in the area. Guest speakers, though working in the financial industry, would be highlighting general issues and not selling their own products.

Speakers have been secured from KAMES CAPITAL EQUITY FUND, SCOTWEST CREDIT UNION, and the charity SHARED HOPE.

•    The meeting will take place on Monday 2nd October 2017 and will run from  7.30 to 9pm with doors open at 7pm. Refreshments will available at the end to allow conversation until 9.30pm.

•    The venue will be Giffnock United Reform Church hall, 163 Fenwick Road, Giffnock, Glasgow, G46 6JB. (next door to Harry Fairbairn’s)
